That 70's Style

Mauve is typically a color that conjures up thoughts of terribly dated bathroom decor and my grandmother's favorite nail color, so I never thought I was a fan of this color. I was so surprised when I tried this sweater on and the shade was practically perfect for my fair skin. The mauve shade is dark enough that it accentuates my pink undertones rather than washing me out completely. The sweater was another find at UAL (which I mentioned in this post), but I am so excited that you can still find it at The Outnet! It's by Helmut Lang, and is great for keeping me warm in this cool spring weather, while still being light enough that I don't get too hot while standing in the sun. I've worn it so much that it's inspired me to add more blush and mauve colors to my repertoire, much like one of my blog dream girls, Julia from Gal Meets Glam.

Skinny jeans are my jam. I wear them nearly every day, and will not be trading them in any time soon. However, in terms of leg lengthening magic and elevated style, flared jeans are such a fun alternative. I’ve been loving the 70’s trend that has been showing up everywhere these last couple of seasons, so this is my subtle take on that style. The downside to flared jeans is that you must wear them with heels. These Sam Edelman slingbacks are such a steal, and I love how comfortable and classic they are.

Jeans and a sweater can be a pretty ho-hum look, so I love the way my Clare V. leopard clutch adds print, texture, and lots of fun. Case and point why handbags are my favorite accessory.
