Old & New Favorites

My favorite thing in my closet is always the item that I just bought. If I buy something in a store, my first instinct is to change into it and wear it out of the store, since nothing that I wore into the store is good enough anymore. So clearly, I want to wear my new bag with everything. To work? Definitely! I can carry my computer in my arms... To the gym? Sure! I don't need sneakers to workout anymore... To pick up dry cleaning across the street? Of course! I usually just bring my keys, but I need everything now... On a quick walk? Absolutely! There's never been a better walking bag in the world.

Do you feel the same way about new things? Lucky for me, the weather has become so lovely and spring-like here in Baltimore, that I really haven't had to make excuses to start dressing like it.

Like many of my friends, I am a big fan of J.Crew for most of the building blocks in my closet. The Tippi sweatervintage cotton t-shirtschino shortspajama pants, and button up shirts are all items I own in multiple. Out of all of the button up shirt options, The Boy Shirt is my new favorite from J.Crew, and it's almost always going on sale. I love the fun prints, like this one in gingham or this multi-color floral, but you can also find it in the easier-to-wear solids and stripes. The fit is relaxed and the fabric is soft and breathable. I can't wait to wear it all spring and summer.

I can't believe that I haven't yet talked about this on the blog, but the very best ballet flats I own are from Target. The Merona brand makes the most comfortable flats for $20, and these pointed toe shoes (with a small hidden wedge) are from Merona as well. I've been having a lot of trouble finding the $20 pair online, but they usually do have them in-store if you have one near you! I do not do any favors to my flats and because I wear them nearly every day, I usually have to replace them each year. Doing so at the $20 price is way easier than at $100-$200+.

I always look forward to the transition between winter and spring. Putting away all of your heavy coats and layers and pulling things to the front of your closet that you haven't seen in months feels like a fresh start. Plus adding something new - like a handbag or a fun pair of shoes - makes everything else (even your old favorites) feel new again too.

    1. Hi Steffy! Thank you for coming and for leaving a comment! I just started following your blog as well. I really like the large bucket bag, but I love the smaller one that you have too. I think that means I can justify getting another one :) The Cammello is really beautiful in person! I love the Lady Bag, so maybe that will be the next one. You are right that they are addictive!!
