1 Scarf, 2 Ways: The Turban (and a Vote!!)

It's another "1 Scarf, 2 Ways" post (see #1: "The Easy Wrap" here)! To catch you up, I'm sharing two modern ways to wear a classic silk scarf. Since this is the last look of the set, you'll be able to vote on your favorite at the end of the post! I'm also in LA, which is why it's sunny and I'm smiling in these pictures :)

Anyways, I love the way this takes a rather plain outfit and jazzes it up. Without the scarf (cover my head if you'd like), it's really just a navy skirt, navy heels, and a white top. Pretty basic. Now you add the bright fuchsia in the head scarf, and it makes the whole outfit more bohemian and interesting. I'm looking forward to rocking this on days that I don't want to wash+blowdry+curl my hair, but still want to wear it down.

Here's how you get this look: Start by folding the scarf into a triangle, then roll it up from the widest edge to the tip of the triangle (into a snake-like shape). Place the middle of the scarf on the back of your head, with the two ends out in front of you. Bring the ends to the top of your forehead, cross them, and twist. Bring the ends back to the back of your head, and tie a knot to keep it in place.

I realize it would have been easier if I'd photographed all of these steps.. I'll do that next time!

I must say that I really love this scarf from Johnny Was. It's mostly fuchsia, but has some hints of blue, and the large scale pattern makes it easy to pair with other prints, like polka-dots. I also LOVE the tassel detail at the corners. I highly recommend stopping by their store in Austin, or checking out all of their scarves online here.

So there you have it, friends. Two ways to wear this classic scarf, ready for you to vote on your favorite!

Which one do you like best? Would you wear either? You don't have to give any info to vote, just click on the one you like, in the question box below the pictures. Also, once you vote, you can see which one is winning. It's VERY fun.

I can't wait to see which one wins! xx
